ARTICHOKES!

Worth the trip to Castroville for sure was the photo session with the Giant Artichoke and the fried artichokes! Merritt STreet in Castroville- you can't miss this Photo Opp and wonderful veggie fruit stand. Seriously one of the most delicious versions of an artichoke dish ever for $4!
One of the best things I learned as a child (as previously mentioned) was to "just try anything once..." so I encouraged my non-believing traveling partners to "try just one" and the small size batch suddenly dissapeared (how could it not?!). You can by them breaded and frozen if you have a way to get them home which sadly I did not! So if you are ever in Castroville stop by and treat your self- you deserve it!

We have always had a passion for good food and wine which started with our parents. I was told at a very early age that I didn't have to like everything but I at leaset had to try it, so I did. I remember my dad taking me to places like the original Tommy Burger in L.A. as well as The Brown Derby restaurant. I have tried to instill this concept in my children over the years as well and they seem to have a wide palate and sense of food awe and adventure. Now I am at a point in my life that I want to go on more food wine and dining adventures and share my experiences as people ask us all the time what we did over the weekend - which translates to what did you cook or where did you go? We like to cook too so we plan on sharing recipes as well as restaurants. Oh and sharing is caring, so if you have restaurant find or super delicious recipe do share- pictures are welcome of food too! YUM!
Hope you enjoy our blog and find yourself able to hit the road and create some dining experiences to call your own.
